A Beacon of Hope: The Birth of ALIADE LA MAIN DE COMPASSION Orphanage

In November 2021, a small group of dedicated individuals came together with a vision to change lives. This was the day ALIADE LA MAIN DE COMPASSION orphanage was born, nestled in the heart of the Maman Mobutu neighborhood in Mont-Ngafula commune. 

Founded by the non-governmental organization AVOC PLUS (Aid to Widows and Orphans of Congo Plus), this orphanage emerged as a response to the growing number of children left without responsible families in Congo. The founders were driven by a simple yet powerful mission: to provide a loving home for those who had lost everything. 

The orphanage's humble beginnings were marked by determination and resourcefulness. With limited resources, they rented a modest 3-room house at 79 Bas-Congo Avenue. This small space was quickly transformed into a haven of hope, equipped with the basics: two standard beds, plastic chairs, a couple of tables, and even a laptop computer and plasma TV for the children's education and entertainment. 

On December 15, 2021, ALIADE LA MAIN DE COMPASSION welcomed its first three residents: Bola Songa Celestin, Songe Obede, and Nkungua Songe. These children, each with their own heart-wrenching story, found a new family within the orphanage's walls. 

As word spread about the orphanage's mission, more children in need were identified. By June 2022, the family had grown to include 11 children, each one bringing their unique personality and story to the mix. 

The journey of ALIADE LA MAIN DE COMPASSION is just beginning, but already it stands as a testament to what can be achieved when compassion meets action. In a world where it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the scale of need, this small orphanage reminds us that every child saved, every life touched, is a victory worth celebrating.
